Poker Table Photos - The Maverick
I've been doing woodwork for a long time, but this was my first poker table. This was my first taste of upholstering and it wasn't too bad. I used maple for the playing surface and rail with a dark Kona stain. The rail has 1" padding and is covered with lizard skin vinyl which was very stiff and difficult to stretch the wrinkles out of. Once the skin grows back on my thumbs I plan on trying to get some more of the wrinkles out ;-) I used a neat little trick to get the pistols and bull head finished in there. My cup holders are plastic...which sucks but I plan on buying good ones soon. I primed them, put a coat of metallic gold paint on, then a few coats of stone effect spray then sealant. They will work for now. I did not buy my materials from this site but I would recommend it for others and I will buy from the site next time. It was a pain in the butt piecing together the foam and searching for the perfect playing surface (I went with a micro fiber which works pretty well) I want to give huge thank you to the owners of this site, I've seen a lot of tables on here from guys who have never done anything like this before and I love to see that. The whole project took me about 15 hours, would have been much quicker with a little help. Thanks again!
